# Price objection scripts for coaches

> A lead asked the price -- and went quiet, or said it's too much.

The price question is a buying signal -- someone with no interest doesn't ask. When a lead goes quiet after you send the number, they're usually doing math, not walking away.

The two classic mistakes are chasing ('just checking in!') and instantly discounting. Both lower your value in the lead's eyes. These scripts reopen the conversation by returning to the outcome the lead already said they wanted.

Send one follow-up two or three days after the silence, in your normal register. If they answer with a real constraint, that's a conversation -- not an objection.

## The scripts

### 1. The outcome return

```
hey -- no pressure on the program at all. can I ask what made you reach out in the first place? if the timing's wrong I'd rather point you at something useful than sell you something you don't need.
```

Why it works: Moves the conversation off the number and back to the goal the lead already admitted to.

### 2. The honest math

```
no argument here, it's a real investment. quick math though: you said you're losing about 2 clients a month to slow replies -- the program pays for itself if we fix just that. want me to walk you through how?
```

Why it works: The math comes straight from what the lead already told you -- nothing invented, just their own numbers reflected back.
Niche variant: For business coaches: swap 'slow replies' for whatever revenue leak the lead named.

### 3. The smaller yes

```
if the full program's a stretch right now, the single-session option might be a better start. same work, smaller scope. want the details?
```

Why it works: A real downsell beats a discount -- the price integrity of the main offer survives.

### 4. The permission close

```
all good either way -- want me to check back in a month, or would you rather reach out when the timing works?
```

Why it works: Handing the decision back to the lead usually does more to lower defensiveness than anything said before it.

### 5. The silent-after-price revival

```
hey, you went quiet after I sent the price -- totally normal, it's a real decision. anything I can clear up? happy to be straight with you about whether this is the right fit.
```

Why it works: Names the silence honestly instead of pretending it didn't happen; honesty reads as confidence.

## FAQ

### Should I ever discount instead?

Rarely -- a discount teaches leads to wait you out. A smaller offer at a fair price keeps your main program's value intact while giving a genuinely constrained lead a way in.

### How long should I wait before following up on price silence?

Two to three days. Sooner reads as pressure; much later and the moment has passed. One follow-up, then let it rest -- the revival script exists for round two, weeks later.
