# Connect Messenger to Luca

Connect the Facebook Page whose Messenger inbox you want Luca to work, and every message gets a drafted reply. About three minutes, same login as Instagram.

## What Luca does on Messenger

It can:

- Read the messages people send your Facebook Page
- Draft a reply in your voice for each one
- Send a reply once you approve it
- Send at a human pace and take breaks like a person, so activity stays natural

It cannot:

- Read your personal Facebook messages; Luca only sees the Page inbox
- Post to the Page, comment, or run ads
- Message anyone who has not written to the Page first

## Before you start

About three minutes, once you have these.

- A Facebook Page for your business
- A Facebook login that is an admin of that Page

## The steps

1. **Confirm your role on the Page.** Open Meta Business Suite -> Settings -> People and check that you are an admin of the Page. Editors cannot connect it.
2. **Start the connection in Luca.** In Luca, pick Messenger on the Connect a channel step and choose Continue with Facebook.
3. **Pick the Page and approve access.** Choose the Page whose inbox Luca should work, then grant the messaging permissions Meta lists.
4. **Send yourself a test message.** From a second Facebook account, message the Page. It appears in Luca with a draft reply within a few seconds.

## If something goes wrong

### Why is your Page missing from the list?

You are logged into a Facebook account that does not administer it. Log out of Facebook, log back in as the admin, and start again.

### Why do older conversations not appear?

That is expected. Luca starts from the moment you connect and does not import your message history.

### Why is a reply blocked as outside the window?

Facebook only allows a freeform reply within 24 hours of the lead's last message. Luca tells you when that window has closed rather than sending something Meta would reject.
