# How Marcus Went from 2 Booked Calls a Month to 11 in His First Week with Luca

**Marcus Osei (@marcusosei.fit)** -- Fitness

**Result: 11 booked calls in week one**

Marcus Osei is a fitness coach who handed Luca the DMs. The result: 11 booked calls in week one. Below, the inbox before, what changed, and the numbers.

## The problem

Marcus had built a following of 18,000 on Instagram over three years of consistent content. His posts performed well. People commented with questions about his programming, his nutrition approach, his transformation clients. But converting those comments into actual discovery calls was a full-time job in itself.

He was spending roughly two hours every evening in his DMs -- responding to enquiries, asking follow-up questions, chasing people who had gone quiet, and manually booking calls through Calendly links he dropped into conversations one at a time. On a good month, he'd convert two or three of those conversations into paying clients. On a bad month, the pipeline would go completely dry because he'd skipped the DM work for a week while travelling.

The dependency on his daily attention was the core problem. Every gap in his DM schedule was a gap in his revenue pipeline, and those gaps were unavoidable. He couldn't be on his phone for two hours every evening forever.

## What changed

Marcus connected Luca to his Instagram account on a Tuesday afternoon. Within the first hour, Luca had read his last 400 DM conversations and built an initial voice fingerprint. It surfaced patterns he hadn't consciously noticed: he typically opened with a question about the prospect's current training split, he used "genuinely" and "honest question" a lot, and he almost never used exclamation marks.

He spent about thirty minutes reviewing the fingerprint, confirming what looked right and correcting two things that felt slightly off. Then he turned on the review queue. By the next morning, there were fourteen draft replies waiting for him -- responses to conversations that had been sitting unanswered for between one and four days. He approved twelve of them in about eight minutes, edited two slightly, and declined none.

The conversations that had been cold for days came back to life. Three of the fourteen responded within the hour. One of them booked a discovery call the same day. By the end of the first week, eleven calls had been booked -- more than Marcus had ever seen in a single week, including weeks when he'd spent hours per day in his DMs.

## The results

In the three months since onboarding, Marcus has maintained an average of eight to ten booked calls per week. His DM review time has dropped from two hours per evening to fifteen minutes in the morning. He has taken three holidays during that period -- previously impossible without his pipeline drying up -- and returned each time to a full queue of qualified conversations.

He has also noticed a qualitative change: the calls he's taking are better qualified than before. Luca's qualification flow surfaces budget and urgency signals before surfacing the booking link, which means the people who show up to calls have already indicated they're ready to invest. His close rate on calls has improved from around 25% to 40%.

> I used to think I was the bottleneck because I wasn't working hard enough. Turns out I was the bottleneck because the system required me to be there every single day. Luca fixed the system.
