On the Free and Essential plans, you can connect any two of Instagram, TikTok, Messenger and Telegram. Pro raises that to three and adds WhatsApp and SMS. Business and Advanced open all of them (Manychat pricing, retrieved August 2026). The catch is that Telegram is easy to miss, and that's a marketing choice, not a product gap. ManyChat sells itself as an Instagram tool first. Telegram sits in the plan table, where most buyers never scroll. You create a bot with @BotFather, Telegram's official bot manager, and give its token to ManyChat. It takes about five minutes and works on any plan. ManyChat's help center lists the steps like this (Manychat Help, retrieved August 2026): 1. In ManyChat, go to **Settings -> Telegram** and click **Connect**. 2. Choose **Create New Bot**. 3. Click the **@BotFather** link to open a chat with Telegram's bot manager. 4. Press **/start** in the BotFather chat. 5. Send the **/newbot** command. 6. Give the bot a display name, then a username. The username must end in "bot", like MartaMealsBot. 7. Copy the API token BotFather generates. 8. Paste the token into ManyChat and click **Connect**. Already have a bot? The steps are almost the same. Choose **Connect Existing Bot**, send **/mybots** to BotFather, pick your bot, open **API token** and paste it into ManyChat. Keep that token private. Anyone who has it controls the bot. If it leaks, make a new token in BotFather and reconnect. ## What works on Telegram once it's connected? Most of ManyChat's day-to-day tools. The Keywords trigger works on Telegram just as it does elsewhere, with the same six matching rules, from a strict "message is" to a loose "message contains" (Manychat Help, 2026). Flows run with buttons, delays, conditions and tags. Sequences send messages over several days. Live chat lets you jump into any bot conversation yourself. Broadcasts are where Telegram beats the Meta channels. You can message everyone who has started your bot, whenever you like, with no template approval or window rules. For a coach announcing a program, a challenge or a price change, that's a real edge over Instagram. Your audience matters more than the feature list, though. Comment-to-DM is the feature most coaches buy ManyChat for. Someone comments on an Instagram or Facebook post, and a DM goes out. Telegram has nothing like it. There's no comment trigger, no story-reply trigger and no ads feeding the bot. Two real limits remain. Telegram's Bot API caps bulk sends at about 30 messages per second. ManyChat handles that for you, and it only matters for very large lists (Telegram Bot API FAQ, 2026). The block button also takes the window's place. A person who feels spammed can remove your bot in one tap, for good. Telegram trusts you with the schedule, and your block rate is the judge. ## When is ManyChat on Telegram enough? When the conversation follows a script, ManyChat is enough, and it's cheap. Think of sending a lead magnet to everyone who taps your bot link, or onboarding a challenge group with a five-day sequence. Or answering the same six questions with keyword triggers, or sending a launch to your bot subscribers. ManyChat on Telegram stops being enough when a lead goes off script, and that's where coaching sales happen. Her comment-to-DM trigger brings in about 500 Active Contacts a month. Her international clients keep asking to talk on Telegram. So she creates MartaMealsBot with BotFather and connects it to her ManyChat Pro plan. Then she puts the bot link in her channel's pinned post and her email footer. The math is the nice part. Telegram adds about 300 Active Contacts a month, which takes her to 800. That's well inside the 2,500 that Pro includes. Her bill stays at $39 a month on monthly billing, so the second channel costs nothing extra. When she sends a program announcement to 300 bot subscribers, it goes out the same afternoon. There's no template approval and no window math, which WhatsApp would have needed. What ManyChat doesn't change: a Telegram lead replies to the broadcast with "how is this different from the app I already use?" The flow has no branch for that. Marta answers those herself, which is fine at 300 subscribers and a bottleneck at 3,000. ## Which edge cases should you plan for? **The 2am message.** Telegram users are spread across the world, so your bot will get messages while you sleep. Scripted answers go out right away, which is the good part. Anything that needs judgment waits until morning. Say so in the bot's reply, and set a reply time you can keep. **The lead who blocks the bot.** One tap and they're gone. No tool can reach them again unless they unblock and restart the bot. Watch your broadcast delivery counts. If you lose a few people after every send, your timing or your content is off. **The new token.** If anyone runs /revoke or makes a new token in BotFather, the old token stops working. ManyChat loses the connection without warning, and messages pile up unanswered. Reconnect with the new token, and only ever change the token on purpose. **The client who already bought.** With no messaging window, your broadcasts reach everyone, including current clients. Tag customers when they buy and leave that tag out of sales sends. A funnel that opens with a comment trigger has no Telegram version. Design it from the bot link inward instead of copying it over. **Broadcasting as if there's no window, because there isn't.** Freedom from the 24-hour rule tempts people into daily blasts. Blocks on Telegram are permanent and silent, and each one shrinks a list you worked hard to build. **Hiding the bot.** Bots can't start conversations, so a bot nobody links to is a bot nobody messages. Put the t.me link everywhere your audience already looks. **Expecting the bot to close.** Flows deliver, tag and broadcast. They don't handle "I need to think about it." Plan for the conversation layer separately, whether that's you, a human setter or an AI setter. **Automating your personal account instead.** Gray-market tools that control personal Telegram accounts break Telegram's terms and put the account at risk.
